This year's Gioia Photography's Urban Senior Model Photo Shoot was a huge success. From the beginning, it rocked! First we drove to Salon Blu for hair and makeup, in style with The Limo Lady in a super stretch limousine fully decked out. The girls stopped traffic as they came out of the limousine in a flurry of brightly colored, satin and chiffon prom dresses and ran into Salon Blu, in Cocoa Village.
Inside, every girl was treated to the full Model experience with gorgeous hair styling by Amanda and flawless makeup by Molly. It was a fun time for everyone...except maybe Angelo who was definitly outnumbered.
The girls were sparkling and gorgeous as they got back into the limousine; off to the first location for the fashion photo shoot.
We created some beautiful portraits. The light was amazing and the girls were stunning. As an artist, I was in my glory.
I want to express my thanks for the local businesses that worked so hard to help make this day amazing for the Models, their moms and Gioia Photography. Amanda, you were quick and creative with the girl's hairstyling...and a huge thank you for the humidity defying hairspray! Molly your makeup skills are flawless. You gave each girl a beautiful glow. Each Model's makeup was perfect, not over done. And last but definitly not least, Yolanda "The Limo Lady" in Brevard, THANK YOU for bringing the hardworking Models to each location in style. I know you made each Model feel like a celebrity for the afternoon. I hope everyone will check out all your websites or Facebook pages and see for themselves how awesome all three of you are.

Hi Friends, Today I would like to introduce you to Debbie Marple a wonderful lady I met recently. Debbie is a serious seamstress...and designer...and....well you get the idea... Give Debbie a call or send her an email and see if her creative and design talents are a good match for your next decorating project.
Debbie's Designs...Drapery and More
25 Artemis Blvd. Merritt Island, FL 32953
Ph: 321-591-3950 Email: debbiemarple@cfl.rr.com
So...tell us a bit about yourself...and then tell us why you love your job.
Originally from Zanesville, Ohio. My husband Terry and I came to Fl. in 2003 to get away from the cold and to start a new life. In Ohio I was very well known for my creativity and seamstress work. I owned a "Do it all" wedding store where I did floral designs, wedding cakes and almost everything that you would need for that special day. I designed and created many wedding, prom, costumes, padgent gowns for little or big, and many other specialty cothing. When I came here I had to start over. Coming to a new place where no one knew me and my talents. I was determined to take my talents and make it the best that I could. Fabric and designing is my love. I have transferrred all my love for fabrics and trims to window coverings and any kind of accents from cushions to bedding. If its made of fabric and a sewing machine I can do it. My nieces, when they were little thought I had "Magic Fingers." They would be running around the house and saw piles of fabrics and trims and hours later "Poof" they had the most beautiful outfits. Having three boys and no girls, the nieces got the coolest clothes.
All the single mom's and ladies on their own, that are trying to make it in todays world.
Tell us about your favorite client/friend experience...Alot of my clients become my friends. I worked with one lady that let me go that extra mile. Every window and bed in the house was extreme, with the prettiest fabrics and trims.(and with no budget) What a dream. Everything looked like a castle. It allowed me to push my creative juices to the max..
Describe what a client would experience from beginning to end with your business?
I come the their home with fabric samples, design books, hardware catalogs etc. I try to get to know them and their personallity to find out what they are wanting their dream windows, etc to be (I pick their brains) I try to design something that they would love. I don't like to push what I like, but what they want, that is very important to me. And they feel like they have been a big part of the finished product. I go back to my computor where I have a window design program and create serveral opptions for each window or room. That gives people something that they can actually see. Not everyone has visions. After everything has been agreed on. I order supplies and start the order. I try to get things done very quickly usually within 2 to 3 weeks after I receive the fabrics. When complete, I have the most amazing installers and I am always there. We work very hard to make every detail perfect. And my customers are always very happy with the final product.
As women, we always like to share great deals we've found...or wonderful businesses we have enjoyed working with...what about you...what would you like to share?
I have a friend that does all of the blinds to go with my designs, Connie from "Blinds & Beyond". She is so sweet to work with and so perfect in what she dose. And of course my installers Jeff and Pete from " Advantage Installations" They are great.
What did you think about your experience with Gioia Photography?
We had my granddaughter's senior pictures taken by Yvette, She is great to work with and made me feel welcome to experience the whole photo session. She can capture that perfect expression in someone's face that shows one's inter beauty also.

Hundreds of years ago, women commissioned
portraits of themselves as art for their homes...And so many of
these portraits still continue to stir deep emotions from visitors to museums
worldwide...So my question is, what happened to the commissioned portrait for
women?...somewhere along the line...women became self conscious, overly critical
and reluctant to have their beauty remembered in art...instead they parrot
the all too familiar saying, " I do not phtograph well!"
I have learned the opposit to be true...in my years
as a portrait photographer...Every one of us has something beautiful
about us...and what a great joy it is to create an image that shows a woman how
beautiful she really is. The beauty that her family and friends see...I
wish every woman could experience the freedom and peace that comes from seeing
that about themselves...
Here is a portrait that I created a few years
ago...but it still gets me...partly because it looks like it could take its
place as a commissioned portrait art found in a museum....it
brings back the era of the beautiful portrait of a woman.

What makes a woman feel beautiful? That was the question that started my brainstorming when I sat down to design the Beautiful Woman Red Dress Portrait Session. I'm in my 40's...a mom of three boys...a working woman since I was 15...i consider myself a typical woman...so it was me who I asked the question to...I wrote down all the things that answered that millenial aged question...Here's my list:
A Red Dress
Sparkles and Satin
Guess Sling Back Red Shoes
J-Lo Hair
Diamond Stud Earrings
Hipster Jeans
Velvet Flowers
Peacock Blue Silk
Lace Over Skin
Black Eyeliner and Crazy Lashes
Auburn Red Hair...Just the right color red
Velvet Tufted Couch
Chandelier
Chiffon in the Wind
My Simple Gold Wedding Band
My Husband
and of course, Victoria Secret!
It's funny how when we women are young, at our most physically beautiful...we are so self critical...we have so many things we pick apart with our appearance...then as we get older...wiser...and maybe still not so happy with our appearance..we at least wise up and appreciate our good qualities more...hopefully. That is the main idea behind my Beautiful Woman Red Dress Sessions...Since I really believe that AC...I hope to show each woman what is most beautiful about HER!
Every woman deserves to feel beautiful. Please forward this blog to someone you feel should see how beautiful they really are... and contact us at our portrait studio to arrange a complimentary consultation for a Beautiful Woman Red Dress Session.
